At SummerSlam 2020, after Brey Wyatt aka The Fiend and Braun Strowman went to hell and back during the main event, it was the former who was able to trample among the men of The Monster Beach and maintain their Universal Championship. But The Fiend’s celebration was short-lived, when Roman Reigns made his surprise comeback and ruled Terror as not only Universal Champion but Strowman. Wyatt was gifted two spears, while Braun took several chair shots to fetch him courtesy of The Big Dog.
Now, WWE has revealed that Reigns is being put on the main event scene from the get-go as he will get a chance at the Universal Championship. Where? Payback 2020. According to the WWE website, Roman would go toe-to-toe with Brey and Strowman in a No Holds Barred Triple Threat match. This means that the main event after SummerSlam 2020 was just an appetizer for the brutality in the attack which is yet to come from the trio. Seeing how Reigns’ new Tea Wreck says Everyone and Leave, we are being promised a new, exciting avatar for The Big Dog.
Interestingly, the WWE payback takes place on 30 August, exactly one week after SummerSlam 2020 and several matches are already being filled this week before WWE Raw, including Randy Orton vs. Keith Lee, Bailey and Sasha Banks vs. Shayna Buszler and Nia Jax. WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship and Apollo Crew vs. Bobby Lashley for the United States Championship.
