Taapsee Pannu, Renuka Shahane, Vir Das complain about excessive electricity bill during lockdown

This time during the lockdown, we are all forced to live inside our homes to help control the spread of the deadly COVID-19 virus. This means that we are consuming more amount of electricity. Therefore, when people were expecting an increase in their electricity bills, they were not ready to grow so fast! Celebrities also joined it when common people were venting their frustration online.

Actress Taapsee Pannu took to her Twitter to complain about the excessive bill received in the month of June. She shared pictures of her bills and questioned electricity suppliers for clarification. From Rs. 3000 to Rs. 5,000, jumping his bill to Rs. 36,000, and he said that he did not buy any additional electrical equipment for his bill to shoot up like this.

Not just Taapsee, actress Renuka Shahane also took to Twitter to share the jump in her bill amount from last month.

Actor and comedian, Vir Das tweeted, “Anyone else in Mumbai get an electricity bill that is triple what they usually pay?”. He received immediate responses from many people like Dino Morea, Amyra Dastur, Neha Dhupia and Kaneez Surka who agreed with him! Amyra even said that she was not living in her flat, but she was being charged double anyway.

It is always good to know that we are not alone when it comes to such issues and we hope that the electricity board will solve this super soon.
