Taapsee Pannu was last seen by Anubhav Sinha’s film, now set to begin shooting for her upcoming sports film Rashmi Rocket. This project will be Taapsee Pannu’s third sports project after Saandh Ki Aankh and Soorma. Taapsee Pannu will play the role of a young girl from the Kutch contingent, who has got a special gift of being able to run extremely fast. Director Akash Khurana recently gave Taapsee’s dedication and some more details of the film to HT.
Talking about Taapsee’s dedication, the director said that the students were so inspired by Taapsee that the school named their gym after him. She trains for two hours every day for better endurance and body language of an athlete. He further added that the first half of the film is set in Kutch and a dictionary expert is hired to help Taapsee to get Kutch’s dialect right and to get into the character’s skin. Further stating that the shooting starts from April 1, the director said that they will be shooting in three parts. After Kutch, they will go to Delhi in May and Dehradun and Mussoorie in June. The first schedule begins with a song, set in the Rann Utsav.
Talking about the film, he said, “The sport forms the backdrop of the film, while the story narrates an athlete’s journey from anonymity to fame and how she gets caught up in the politics and corruption of the sports system along the way.” Taapsee had already started preparations for the sports drama and will resume in Mumbai from 26 March.
