South superstar Prabhas has announced a donation of Rs. 1.5 crore to the Telangana Chief Minister Relief Fund to help the people affected by the Hyderabad floods. In the last monsoon season, heavy rains in Telangana affected, injured and displaced. The state has suffered a lot of damage for infrastructure.
According to records, almost 70 people have died due to rain in the last week and about 37,000 people have been displaced from low-lying areas in government relief camps. This is the worst rains to hit Telangana since 1908.
Prabhas is no stranger to philanthropy. In 2020, he has made several charitable donations. He had earlier paid Rs. 50 lakhs to both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for Covid-19 aid. He paid Rs. 3 crores towards Prime Minister National Relief Fund. He has always promised to help the needy people and his donations have positively affected the welfare of many people.
Along with Prabhas, several prominent personalities have also pledged to donate to the Telangana Chief Minister Relief Fund. Chiranjeevi and Mahesh Babu contributed Rs. 1 crore each. Akkineni Nagarjuna and Junior NTR plans Rs. 50 lakhs each. Actor Vijay Devarakonda is also committed to a donation of Rs. 10 lakhs.
