While we all know that Nayanthara made her Kollywood debut with the Sarathkumar starrer film Ayya, she was the original choice of critically acclaimed director Radhakrishnan Parthiban for her 2004 film Kudaikul Mazhai. However, Nayanthara could not meet Parthiban for unknown reasons, due to which the director finalized Madhumitha for the role. Nayanthara made her debut in the 2005 release Ayya. The pair starred in Vignesh Shivan’s directorial Naanum Rowdy Thaan, which was the comeback film of the Lady Superstar.
Parthiban played the main antagonist in the film, while Vijay Sethupathi and Nayanthara were the lead actors. RJ Balaji and Radhika Sarathkumar played key roles in the film. The film was critically acclaimed for its complex satire and was well received by fans of all actors. For his career in the entertainment industry, it would make sense for many actors and directors to say that the film was a game-changer.
Meanwhile, Nayanthara has a group of films in her kitty. His next film will be Mookuthi Amman. Jointly directed by RJ Balaji and NJ Saravanan, Mookuthi Amman is a religious drama which will feature female superstars as Goddess Mookuthi Amman. Actor Indhuja, who appeared in Big Sharing screen space with actors Vijay and Nayanthara, will make a cameo in the film. RJ Balaji will be seen in the lead role in Mookuthi Amman. Annaatthe starring Rajinikanth in the lead role also has Nayanthara of which one is the female lead. Keerthy Suresh, Meena and Khushboo will also appear in Siruthai Shiva’s direction. Annathe will mark the third collaboration of Nayanthara and Rajinikanth, while the first two are Chandramukhi and most recently the film Darbar. Being a rural drama, the film is bankrolled by Sun Pictures.
She will also appear in Netrikann by Milind Rau. It will mark Nayanthara’s 65th film and is the first production venture under Vignesh Shivan’s home banner Rowe Pictures. Apparently, the film will feature power-packed action sequences for female superstars. She will also be seen in the film Kaathu Vaakula Rendu Kaadhal directed by Vignesh Shivan. Nayanthara and Samantha Akkineni are all set to join hands as female leads in the film, with Vijay Sethupathi playing the male lead. It is expected that further updates about the film will be made after the lockdown is removed.
