Amitabh Bachchan’s films are always iconic. His charisma and angry-young personality have led to some iconic roles over the years. Now, while some of his films have been reported to be remakes, a Mumbai Mirror report states that his 1982 action-crime drama, Shakti was remade by Mr. Narayan Singh, the director of Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
Speaking about it, a source revealed that the idea for the remake came about 10 years ago. Abhishek Bachchan was to step into his father’s role, but the film was put on the back-burner.
Confirming the news, Mr. Narayan Singh told the publication that he has been working on the film for two years now, penning the script with Anjum Rajabali and Saumya Joshi. He says this is a big responsibility and they are taking their time to finalize the script. Singh says that his adaptation is more than a remake. The film is likely to go on floors next year.
